Alex Kyle

Alex Kyle, who lives in Leeds, has been Musical Director for Ilkley and Otley Choral Societies since January 2024.

Alex is a well established figure in Yorkshire music circles as a well known conductor, solo singer and singing teacher. 

From 2013-22 Alex was Choral Director for Leeds Diocese Music during which period he conducted Bradford Cathedral Youth Choir in prestigious venues such as the Papal Basilica of St Peter’s in the Vatican and on BBC television and Radio 3 and 4.

In 2025 Alex was also appointed to the acclaimed Huddersfield Choral Society as an Assistant Choral Director. 

Alex is in demand as a solo singer and guest conductor, and has run workshops at regional music festivals. He holds a Masters Degree with Distinction in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing awarded by the University of York. He recently formed Vivify Ensemble, a vocal group specialising in Renaissance music.
