We do not hold auditions and we welcome singers of all levels and experience, whether you’re Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass.
An ability to read music helps a lot, but as long as you enjoy singing and want to perform with others you’ll be most welcome. If you’re less experienced we will try to pair you with someone in your early weeks so you can gain confidence.

If you would like to give us a try you can come along to an open rehearsal before you decide. Our next open rehearsals are at the start of the 2026/7 season on Tuesday 8th and 15th September 2026. There are several stages when new members are invited to attend open rehearsals throughout the season.
Our weekly rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings 7-9pm at Prince Henry’s Grammar School, Farnley Lane, Otley LS21 2BB. You can see the full schedule of rehearsals and concerts here. There’s ample parking available, and level access is available to the lower hall where we meet. You’re also welcome to attend additional rehearsals at Ilkley Choral Society on Monday evenings.
Membership for the whole season costs £170. There are a variety of ways you can pay including bank transfer.

Case by case concessions can be made to the subscription where appropriate. We are happy to offer a 50% reduction in subscriptions to anyone under 35.
Your subscription includes attendance at all rehearsals and concerts, leadership from a professional conductor and hire of most music.
